PTA
Welcome to St John’s Primary Academy’s Parents and Teacher’s Association Page. Thank you for visiting our page. For current and prospective parents who have heard about the PTA, seen us in action, or just want to know more you’ll find out all you need to know right here.
What is the PTA?
The parent Teacher Association (PTA) plays a vital role in raising money for equipment, initiatives and activities that will enhance our children’s school experience. As well as raising money, the PTA also play a vital link between parents and school, helping foster the feeling of ‘family’ that St John’s is known for, and also make parents lives that little bit easier.
Who is part of the PTA?
When your child joins the school, you automatically become a member of the school PTA but how involved you are is completely up to you. The PTA exists as a committee of volunteers who hold the roles of responsibility, and they are supported by a wider group of other volunteer parents who give anything from a few minutes to many hours of their time to plan and deliver our calendar of events (think discos, festive secret room, Freeze Fridays and many more!)
We are always keen for more help, so we would love you to get involved! We are all just busy parents who have many other commitments and struggle for time, but who feel passionately about supporting their children’s school and love getting together over lovingly baked goodies (think cake and biscuits) to plan events together. We have a lot of fun!

What are we raising Money for?
With the current financial climate in mind and the desire to provide an exciting environment for our children, the PTA has so far provided funds for:
· My Maths platform for the whole school
· Year 1 coach to Stafford castle
· Year 2 Coach to Staffordshire wildlife Centre
· Year 3 coach to Wroxeter
· Year 5 coach to Ukulele concert
· Year 6 end of school treat to bowling
· Prizes for end of year talent show
· Donation to large play equipment
· Donation to whole school reading books
Alongside continued funding for trips, equipment and treats such as these, we are also in conversation with the school about what larger investments they would like to be able to make if they had the funds, and how we can support them.
Getting involved
We often hear parents say they thought about getting involved or wanted to but couldn’t make the meeting or just weren’t sure… if you are wanting to help out in any small way, please do get in touch, all welcome! We’re contactable on the following:
By email, to admin @st-johns-stafford.staffs.sch.uk
Or speak to Miss Rees (Reception R) or Mrs Cooper (Year 1H)
On the school playground at pick up/ drop off – please just come and say hi!
Or just come along to our next meeting which will be advertised on our weekly newsletter.
We aim to raise funds to enhance the children's learning experiences and help them to have fun.
