St John's CE Primary Academy is proud to be part of Operation Encompass, a national initiative that operates jointly between schools and police forces to support children who have experienced domestic abuse.

Operation Encompass is a unique police and education early intervention safeguarding partnership. Its aim is to ensure that children who have been exposed to domestic abuse receive the support they need as quickly as possible. Operation Encompass recognises that every child has the right to feel safe, secure and supported.

As part of this programme, all of our Designated Safeguarding Leads are trained as Operation Encompass Key Adults. Following Operation Encompass procedures, Key Adults receive information from the police when a child has been affected by an incident of domestic abuse. This enables school to provide timely support, understanding and care for both children and their families.
